As a single mother, staying motivated is very crucial but it can be exhausting. I admit, sometimes I feel less motivated to get on with my day. I know I am not the only one who feels like this.

Speak Positive Things About Yourself to Yourself

This is something I do all the time. Talking to myself helps alot because sometimes you need to hear a voice telling you that you are doing great. The moment you starts talking positive words to yourself, you’ll have this uplifting feeling that motivates you to push harder and never give up. When you don’t get that from some else, do it yourself.

Count Your Blessings

Look around you and count your blessings. You have beautiful kids, a place you and your kids call home and they are happy. It’s natural to look at other people’s lifestyle and wishes you had their lifestyle. Honestly, trust me, you don’t. If you know what happens behind the closed door, you’d understand that some people are built to deal with certain things of which others can not. Count your blessings motivate you to cherish what you have.

Set Goals

Setting goals for what you want to achieve helps because it gives you something to wake up to. If you have achieved it, this will uplift your spirit and motivate you to set another goal. If you have not achieved any, then you’ll have something to work on.

Take It One day At A Time

We are always busy, and every hour is rush-hour. Sometimes we want something to happen in a flash and not to ever worry about it again. I remember when my daughter was younger and I remember feeling overwhelmed by how much things I need to do within so little time. It was so frustrating to wait. However, I learnt to calm down and take things slowly because I don’t want to end up making a huge mess of things and have no one to blame but myself. Everything takes time, do not rush it.

Plan Ahead

Planning ahead is motivates you because it makes feel excited about the future. Back in 2016, I made the decision to put in an application for college and I got accepted to start in 2017. The fact that I got accepted motivates me to start preparing for the future.
