Happy Independence Day Nigeria

Happy Independence Day Nigeria. Hey guys, welcome to another post. We are in the month of October and that means it is Blogtober time. It is also  Nigeria’s Indaepencce Day. Today Nigerians from over the world come together and celebrate with families and friends. Treating themselves to some of the Nigerian delicious dishes and Afrobeat.

If you don’t know yet, I am Nigerian and although I had not been home in the last 15 years, I love my country. However, I feel there is a lot that still needs to be done in the country for its citizen. In my summer holiday post Summer In Nigeria 2019, I spoke about my recent visit to Nigeria, and although there have been some major changes, I was shocked to see that many people were still living like I was when I left and worse in some cases.  I was so sad to hear about the recent horrific event that happened in between South African and Nigerians. There were no words to describe how I felt.

Nigeria is a beautiful country. We have everything that we need and more, if only we had a good government that actually cares about its citizens. We have all worked very hard as one country to make a difference, but more needs to be done. If the government should just talk and listen to what the people wants and needs, and try to communicate and work with them on a regular basis. Maybe just maybe things will improve. At the end of the day, Nigeria will always home to over 100 million people in the world.

I still have families and friends in Nigeria who are surviving and after everything the country has been through, I believe we deserve a change. A change that will make everyone who lives Abroad to go home for regularly.

Welcome to my blog. My name is Sonia Seivwright and I live in Sunny Aberdeen, Scotland. I am a blogger, Content Creator, an Author, a YouTuber and a single parent. I have always considered writing as one of my strongest strength, and it has been a way to express myself better. Single parenting is very hard but it is rewarding. There has been a lot of changes in my life since becoming a mother and there is so much more to come.

I haven’t been able to travel out of the country far, only to Canada. I hope to travel farther someday. There are so many beautiful places. Hopefully Nigeria can keep improving to have better living situations.
